Winter Survivalist Guided Day Excursion

Looking to be more independent? To know how to take care of yourself and others in the wilderness? Are you looking to face your fears, or hone your skills? This is the excursion for you. Not to worry - this tour shows you survivalist skills in a fun, safe and engaging way!

This awesome tour takes you on a guided experience through the back wilderness of South Bruce Peninsula. Learn to build a proper fire in less than ideal circumstances, learn navigation, master foraging, and ace creating a shelter. It’s a fun and engaging full day experience for the whole family to enjoy!

Your guide will act as a photographer throughout the journey - with a mixture of candid shots and staged photos at points of interest - you will leave with tokens of your adventure!

A safety debrief explaining trail etiquette, winter hiking essentials, and an overview of the gear that will be used on the journey.
Lunch will be provided including sandwiches and high protein snacks. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

Tour Itinerary:

9:00 AM Introductions - Learn about our host and his lifelong affinity with the outdoors and exploration

9:15 AM Shelter Building and Navigation - Identify the first steps necessary after becoming isolated in the wilderness

11:15 AM Fire Building and Cedar Tea Brewing - Search and forage for the best kindling and woods, as well as natural locally found ingredients for tea making

12:30 PM Lunch - Catered lunch provided by Red Bay Lodge

1:00 PM Cordage Making - Learn how to braid and create rope and other life saving gear from items that can be sourced in a wilderness environment.

2:00 PM Basic Wilderness First Aid - Walk through a kit of essential items for survival that every explorer should travel with

3:00 PM Wrap up and Debrief
